A safe location can be one of the following; an external hard drive, a USB memory stick, a backup tape, another physical hard drive in your machine.

There is yet another method of Outlook PST backup just follow the following steps:
- Open the “Start” menu and click “Run”.
- Then, type “Control Panel” in the Open box.
- When the Control Panel opens, click on the Classic view from left and double-click the “Mail” icon.
- Click “Show Profiles”.
- Select the appropriate profile and click “Properties”.
- Then, click on “Data Files”.
- Under “Name”, select the Personal Folders Service to back up.
